I have been under Hadassah’s guidance for six months now, and I can sincerely say that she is exactly the right person at the right time in my life. Not every step in my process went in a straight line upward. There were moments of relapse, of doubt and sadness. I have been through a lot in my life and was used to always being strong – especially for the people I love. I have been following intercultural trauma therapy with Hadassah for three months now, and I can say that she crossed my path at exactly the right moment in my life. 

What began as a process of processing the injustice done to me by the childcare benefit scandal soon went much deeper. 

Hadassah immediately saw that there was more at play. Not only was I victimized by a failing system – my pain began earlier. Even before my birth, the foundation was laid for a life full of challenges.

I grew up as someone who wanted to please others and always tried to be grateful – even when people hurt me. 

Thanks to the sessions with Hadassah, I have come to see where this originates and, more importantly, how to break these patterns to create a happy future for myself. When I started, I was emotionally strongly attached to someone who did not treat me with respect.   After a 1-on-1 session in Haarlem, I drove to the beach to let everything we discussed sink in.  There I decided to let go – and I never looked back. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Now, three months later, I notice how much I have grown. Under Hadassah’s guidance, I have broken patterns that repeated themselves in my relationships for years. I learned to set my boundaries, to choose for myself and, above all: to say ‘no’ when necessary.

I never thought anyone would understand me with what I have experienced in my life. Someone who has understanding and no judgment ready when it comes to my life in the past and in the present. I was always afraid to ask for help, precisely because someone has already made up their mind or is only half listening.

Recently, I followed a short coaching program with Hadassah. I went into it very openly and was curious about what it would bring me. In my view, personal development is something everyone benefits from, including myself. And so we got to work!

The atmosphere was always relaxed, and I felt I could say anything that was going through my mind at that moment. I experienced the sessions as confrontational, educational, valuable, and warm.

A few important insights the sessions brought me are that:

1. feelings are simply allowed to be there and do not need to be explained or solved
2. when you care a lot for others, there is insufficient space to take good emotional care of yourself
3. annoyances with other people can be traced back to yourself.

Through guided reflection reports, I have taken a first step in recognizing and acknowledging my feelings and experiences. Each session was an important step in my healing process. When I look back at how I entered and where I am now, I have grown immensely. Hadassah immediately saw that I needed stillness. I did that (no social media and canceled all clients).
